HANOVER, N.H. – Sam McKenna recorded a hat trick, Lexi Kenneally posted four points (1g, 3a) and Stephanie Palmucci added a goal and two assists of her own, but UConn women's lacrosse was beaten by No. 20 Dartmouth, 18-9, Tuesday afternoon at Scully-Fahey Field.
Caitlin Leary cashed in twice for the Huskies, while classmates Lia LaPrise and Jordan Coulon notched one goal apiece, respectively. Goalie Grace Beshlian racked up 13 saves in the loss.
Dartmouth jumped out to a three-goal lead after scoring four of the game's first five goals. UConn sliced the deficit in half after the second-straight connection between Lexi Kenneally and Sam McKenna's pulled the Huskies within 4-2 on the scoreboard. The home team would close the half on a 6-1 run to take a 10-3 advantage into the break.
