Huskies Primed for Weekend Series at UNH

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's hockey team hits the road this weekend for an important Hockey East series against the UNH Wildcats. Friday's contest is scheduled for a 6 pm puck drop, while Friday's tilt is scheduled for a 2:00 start time.
Hockey East has partnered with CBS Sports Digital to begin the 2019-20 season, making all home men's and women's games available on CBS Sports Digital properties. The partnership kicks off with an early-season schedule that includes games provided for free on CBS SportsLive.

What to Know:
- UConn enters this weekend with an 11-8-1 overall record and a 8-4-1 mark in Hockey East action. The Huskies are coming off a 2-0 weekend against Holy Cross, posting wins of 2-1 and 6-0.
- UNH has the all-time series lead at 47-14-5. The Wildcats one the first matchup this season, 2-0.
- Natalie Snodgrass leads the UConn attack with 19 points on eight goals and 11 assists, while Catherine Crawley has notched six goals and a team-high 12 assists to total 18 points. Briana Colangelo (13), taylor Wabick (11) and Morgan Wabick (10) are the other three Huskies with double figure points.
- New Hampshire went 1-1-0 to start the 2020 calendar year, losing game one to Penn State 3-0, but bouncing back to take game two, 2-1.
- Two rookie netminders set firsts in the weekend, with freshman Ava Thewes (Clarkston, Mich.) getting her first career start on Friday, and Nikki Harnett (Plymouth, Minn.) notching her first career win on Saturday.
Leading the Pack:
Chris MacKenzie enters his eighth season leading the UConn women's hockey team. MacKenzie has won over 100 games during his time at UConn and has been an instrumental part in turning the program around. In 2015-16, Mackenzie coached UConn to their first winning season since 2010.
