BSB Loses 17-8 at New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS – The UConn baseball team (3-5) lost the series against the University of New Orleans, 17-8, on Saturday at Maestri Field. The Huskies and Privateers will wrap up the series on Sunday at 1 PM ET.
New Orleans came out of the gates and jumped out to a 12-0 lead after three innings by racking up five extra base hits, including two homers, two triples and a double.
The Huskies trimmed the deficit to six runs, 13-7, in the seventh inning on the strength of five runs in the frame. Reggie Crawford delivered a two-run single while Erik Stock and Christian Fedko added RBI singles.
Stock went 4-4 at the plate with a pair of RBIs on Saturday, becoming the second Husky to accomplish the feat in 2020 (Reggie Crawford).
Speaking of Crawford, the freshman first baseman hit his first home run of his career in the ninth for his third hit of the ballgame.
Kyler Fedko notched his second three-hit game of the season and scored a pair of runs in the loss.
