Sophomore Viki Harkness and junior Natalie Snodgrass were the UConn goal scorers, with Harkness netting her eighth of the season and Snodgrass notching her 100th career point, becoming just the fifth player in program history to accomplish the feat. Senior netminder Morgan Fisher was solid between the pipes as she recorded 16 saves on the afternoon, including seven huge ones in the third period to keep the Huskies in the game.
UConn and Boston College ended the opening 20 minutes deadlocked at zero. The Huskies came out firing and tested BC netminder Maddy MacArthur early, peppering her with 13 shots through the frame despite being able to get one through. Fisher proved she was equally up to the task, stuffing all five attempts she faced. UConn and BC each earned power plays during the period, with both teams going 0-1 on the extra-man advantage.
The Huskies continued to put the pressure on MacArthur with 11 more shots in the second. The home team struck for the game's first goal off the stick of Lindsay Agnew at 9:32, breaking the scoreless tie to put BC ahead 1-0. UConn quickly got back on the attack as they searched for the equalizer. The Huskies had a couple of great opportunities on the doorstep but were unable to slip one past the goal line.
Shots were even in the final period, but the Huskies managed to create three huge scoring opportunities that put them in perfect position to steal the win. The first was a near miss – Snodgrass raced down the ice and rifled a shot that deflected off the pipe and out. UConn wouldn't be denied again, netting the equalizer at 14:23. Savannah Bouzide stole the puck and fired a shot on net that was deflected by MacArthur. Harkness crashed the boards and picked up the rebound, going top shelf to tie the game at one.

The Huskies weren't finished yet. With a trip to the Hockey East semifinals within arm's length, the visitors took what was theirs, grabbing the lead off a clutch play from Snodgrass. The Husky defense forced a Boston College turnover and Tristyn Svetek tossed a pass up ice to Snodgrass, who skated in and went five hole to put UConn ahead 2-1 at 17:49.
