Huskies Ready for Hockey East Semifinals

STORRS, Conn. – After a thrilling series win over Boston College in the quarterfinals, the UConn women's hockey team (18-17-2) turns its attention to the semifinal round of the 2020 Hockey East playoffs.
The Huskies will go up against the New Hampshire Wildcats in the second of two semifinal tilts, with puck drop slated for 3:30 pm. The winner will advance to the Hockey East Championship game and face the winner of Northeastern-Maine in Sunday afternoon's 2 pm title match.
The 2020 Hockey East Championship is being held at Lawler Arena in North Andover, Massachusetts – home of the Merrimack Warriors. All games will be broadcast on NESN+ and live streamed on CBS All-Access.

What to Know:
- The Huskies advanced to the semis after knocking off Boston College in the opening round. After dropping the first game 4-2, UConn bounced back with 2-0 and 2-1 wins to claim the series.
- Natalie Snodgrass (16g, 17a) paces the UConn offense with 33 points, Catherine Crawley's (14g, 16a) 30 points is second on the team, with Briana Colangelo (7g, 17a) in third with 24. Taylor Wabick (20) Morgan Wabick (18), Danielle Fox (16), Viki Harkness (14), Savannah Bouzide (13) and Tristyn Svetek (12) are the other seven Huskies with double figure points.
- Morgan Fisher holds an 11-14-2 record in goal with eight wins in conference play and Samantha Carpentier-Yelle holds a 7-3-0 record in 11 starts, with five wins in conference play. Fisher has a .913 save percentage and 2.19 GAA, while Carpentier-Yelle has a 1.70 GAA and .929 save percentage.
- Snodgrass notched her 100th career point off her game-winner against BC in game three, becoming just the fifth player in program history to accomplish the feat.
- New Hampshire comes into the weekend with an 18-14-4 mark. The Wildcats won their first ever quarterfinal series, sweeping the Providence College Friars last Thursday and Friday by a score of 4-2 in game one, 1-0 in game two.
- UNH and UConn have faced off five times in the postseason, four times in Hockey East. This will be the third semifinal meeting between the two programs.
Leading the Pack:
Chris MacKenzie enters his eighth season leading the UConn women's hockey team. MacKenzie has won over 100 games during his time at UConn and has been an instrumental part in turning the program around. In 2015-16, Mackenzie coached UConn to their first winning season since 2010.
