Huskies Host Columbia in Midweek Matchup

STORRS, Conn. – The Huskies are set for a midweek matchup with the Columbia Lions on Wednesday, March 11th. Opening draw is scheduled for 3:00pm at the Sherman Family Complex.

Scouting the Lions
The Lions enter Wednesday's contest with a 0-6 overall record and a 0-2 mark in Ivy League play. Last time out, Columbia fell to Cornell on Saturday by a score of 20-2. Junior Alexandria Absey leads the team with 12 points on the season. She also leads the team with 11 goals. Six other Lions have tallied at least five points so far this season.
Matchup History
Wednesday's matchup will be only the third meeting between UConn and Columbia since the 2011 season. The Huskies are 1-1 against the Lions, dropping the most recent meeting last March by a score of 13-7 in Storrs.
Last Time Out
The Huskies fell to No. 10 UMass Amherst last Saturday 18-14 at the Sherman Family Complex. Senior Olivia Miles tallied four goals and an assist for five points. Sophomore Lia LaPrise added to her team-leading point total with three goals and two assists for five points on the afternoon. Juniors Abby Vetsch and Sydney Watson each added a pair of goals for the Huskies.

Sydney Watson currently sits tied for 10th in the country in goals per game with 4.00. Her 24 goals on the season have her tied for 17th in the country as well. Lia LaPrise sits in 4th in the country in assists per game with 3.33 and is tied for 6th in assists with 20. LaPrise also holds the 8th spot in the country in points per game with 5.67.
