#17 FH Takes Final Weekend Road Swing

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 17 UConn field hockey team will take its final weekend road trip of the season with a Friday, October 15 BIG EAST tilt against Villanova at 3 p.m. and then travel to College Park, Md. for a matchup with No. 8 Maryland on Sunday, October 17 at 2 p.m.
The Huskies (7-7, 3-1 BIG EAST) are looking to extend their winning streak to a season-high three games with a victory on Friday.Â
UConn is coming off a weekend sweep of Quinnipiac (1-0) and then scored a season-high eight goals against Boston University on Sunday (8-0).
Freshman Sophia Ugo earned BIG EAST Rookie of the Week honors after posting her first career hat trick against the Terriers.
Ugo leads the team with six goals while Claire Jandewerth has scored five and chipped in a pair of assists.
Goaltender Cheyenne Sprecher secured a pair of shutouts last weekend including a combined shutout with Alena Smargiassi on Sunday.
UConn will wrap up the regular season with three of its final four games at home.Â
