No. 17 FH Rally Falls Short at No. 8 Maryland, 3-2

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 17 UConn field hockey team (8-8) rallied against No. 8 Maryland but ultimately fell short, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon in College Park.
Trailing 3-0 with five minutes remaining, Kourtney Kennedy scored her first goal of the season on a UConn penalty corrner.Â
Moments later, McKenna Sergi notched her seventh goal of the season to close the gap to one.
The Huskies pulled Cheyenne Sprecher out of goal to get an extra attacker but were unable to find the equalizer.
The Huskies were out shot 16-6 in the match and the Terrapins had a 6-3 edge in penalty corners.Â
Next up, the Huskies head home for a pair of matches next weekend against Georgetown (Friday, October 22, 1 p.m.) and UMass (Sunday, October 24, 12 p.m.). Sunday's game will be Senior Day for the Huskies.
