HAMDEN, Conn. - The No. 18 UConn field hockey team (6-7, 3-1 BIG EAST) secured a 1-0 victory against Quinnipiac (1-10, 0-4 BIG EAST)Â on Friday afternoon.
The game ended up being delayed an hour because the UConn bus broke down on its way to Quinnipiac.
With a 4 p.m. start, freshman Madi Herb got the Huskies on the board in the first quarter with her first career goal.Â
That ended up being the only scoring in the match with the Huskies leading, 15-7, in shots and both teams had six penalty corner attempts.
Cheyenne Sprecher secured her fifth shutout of the season with three saves on the afternoon.
UConn looks to get back to the .500 mark with a Sunday home match against Boston University at 1 p.m.
