Field Hockey Set to Face Quinnipiac This Weekend

Huskies and Bobcats Square-Off on Friday and Sunday
STORRS, Conn. - The No. 8 University of Connecticut field hockey team is back in action this weekend and will play a Friday, Sunday home-and-home series with Quinnipiac. Friday's contest is set for 3 p.m. in Hamden while Sunday's game is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex in Storrs.Â
Prior to the game on Sunday, the Huskies will hold a pregame ceremony to honor the careers of seniors Tori Albright, Chiara Ma and Vivian Tucker. The trio has been a part of one of the most successful stretches in program history, which includes the 2017 national championship and six BIG EAST titles. The Huskies are 67-9 over the last four years, including 26-1 in league play.
UConn enters the weekend with a 5-1 overall record and a 4-1 mark in the BIG EAST while the Bobcats are 2-3, 2-3 on the year.Â
Connecticut is led by the reigning BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, Sophie Hamilton, who leads the team with eight goals, five assists and 21 points. UConn is outscoring the opposition 21-6 this year and is outshooting its opponents 123-23.Â
