No. 15 FH Carries Momentum Into Important Road Trip

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 15 UConn field hockey team embarks on an important road trip with a BIG EAST matchup against No. 13 Liberty on Friday, September 24 at 3 p.m. and then head to Chapel Hill, N.C. to take on the reigning National Champion North Carolina Tar Heels at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 26.

The Huskies are riding a wave of momentum after beating No. 19 Old Dominion, 2-0, last Friday to open up BIG EAST play and then followed it up with a 1-0 shootout win against No. 13 Harvard on Sunday.

Cheyenne Sprecher earned NFHCA and BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors after back-to-back shutouts against both ranked opponents.

The Huskies are now 4-4, 1-0 BIG EAST on the season and have played seven matches against ranked opponents (3-4).

UConn is 8-1 against the Flames all-time and Friday's match could go a long way in determining the BIG EAST regular season championship.

The Huskies enters Sunday's match against the Tar Heels with a 4-10 record and are 0-1 in Chapel Hill.
