STORRS, Conn. – The No. 13 UConn field hockey team (11-4) will host their final two games of the regular season this weekend on campus in Storrs, CT.
The team will open the weekend against BIG EAST competitor, Temple University, on Friday, October 28th at 1 p.m. at Nancy Stevens Field, followed by the Senior Day game against No. 2 University of Maryland on Sunday, October 30th at 1 p.m.
Madi Herb's two-goal game against Georgetown University earned her BIG EAST honorable mention this past week. The sophomore's pair of goals on Friday afternoon puts her at four total goals on the season.
UConn veteran goalkeeper, Cheyenne Sprecher, will look to continue her impressive record-breaking career in the two final games of the regular season. Freshmen, Sol Simone and Julia Bressler, will look to add to their total goals on the season and help UConn to both a BIG EAST and a non-conference win.
The Huskies will honor 10 Seniors during the Sunday matchup versus No. 2 Maryland – Natalie Brown, Frances Carstens, Anna Casinghino, Claire Jandewerth, Jerri Lankford, Abril Martinez-Arraya, Daniela Parrado, McKenna Sergi, Erica Solomen, and Cheyenne Sprecher. Over the past four years, this group of Seniors has amassed 53 wins for the Huskies. They have been BIG EAST Regular Season Champions and BIG EAST Tournament Champions in both 2019 and 2020. They are a special group that will surely be missed both on and off the field here at UConn.
