Huskies Set to Host a Two-Game Big East Battle Ahead of Senior Day

Storrs, Conn. - The women's volleyball team is set to host DePaul and Marquette this weekend in a Big East showdown. The Huskies will face DePaul on Saturday, November 12 at 1 PM and Marquette on Sunday, November 13 at 1 PM. Additionally, all eight seniors will be recognized and honored this Sunday. Â
UConn enters the matchup 14-10 overall and 8-5 in Big East play. Last weekend, the Huskies split the Big East two-game road trip. The Huskies remain in the fifth slot in the standings as they continue to look to clinch a spot in the Big East tournament.Â
The top six teams in the standings travel to Omaha, Nebraska for the post season. DePaul sits in the eighth spot in the Big East standings and Marquette currently holds the second spot with a 13-1 conference record. Â
Guiding the way for the Huskies are two of the eight graduating seniors, Caylee Parker and Jasmine Davis, as they combine for 532 kills, 44 assists, 57 saves, and 638 total points. Closely behind them is another senior, Allie Garland, as she is posting 190 kills and 47 digs on the season. Â
Heading into the matchup between DePaul, DePaul currently holds a record of 5-9 overall and 9-17 in Big East play. Leading the way is Jill Pressly with 391 kills, 306 digs, and 433 points. The last time UConn met DePaul; the Huskies dropped the first meeting against DePaul this season by taking one of four sets. Â
Heading into the matchup between Marquette, Marquette has an overall record of 22-2 including the lone loss in Big East play. Leading the way is Aubrey Hamilton as she was recently announced to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season. She is posting a .405 hitting percentage and has a 4.20 kill rate per set and a 1.80 dig per set rate on the season. UConn fell in three sets the first game against Marquette this season. Â
