No. 15 UConn Hosts Butler in Home Finale Saturday

STORRS, Conn. -Â Following its first win against a ranked opponent this season, the No. 15 UConn women's lacrosse team will take the field at Morrone Stadium for the final time this season against Butler on Saturday, April 23 at 11 a.m.
UConn picked up its first win in program history against No. 25 Yale, defeating the Bulldogs 20-14 on Wednesday in New Haven. Senior Grace Coon had a career day on the attack, netting seven goals, and started the game with four scores in a six-minute span. Fellow seniors Lia LaPrise and Sydney Watson also notched seven-point efforts, while Landyn White made 14 saves in net.
Additionally, the Huskies set a team single-game record with 27 draw controls. Watson passed her own single-season draw control record with her 137th draw control at Yale. She leads the BIG EAST and ranks fourth nationally with 10.0 draw controls per game.
With Wednesday's win, UConn recorded back-to-back 12-win seasons for the first time in program history. The 2013 team set the program record with 13 wins.
SCOUTING BUTLER
Butler enters Saturday's contest 6-7 overall and 0-3 in the BIG EAST. Leah Rubino is the top threat on the draw with 48 wins, and also leads the Bulldogs in caused turnovers (26). Campbell Connors leads the team in goals (35) and points (43), and Greer Bireley owns the top mark in assists (30). As a team, Butler leads the BIG EAST in assists per game (7.9).
THE SERIES
UConn has taken all four games in the series and has outscored the Bulldogs 80-24. Saturday will mark the second matchup in Storrs.

The Huskies will close out the regular season on Friday, April 29 at Georgetown. Opening draw is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and game will be broadcasted on FS2.
