STORRS, Conn. - The No. 25 UConn baseball team (21-7) notched a 10-1 victory against Merrimack on Wednesday afternoon at Elliot Ballpark.
The Huskies carried their momentum from Tuesday into the early innings at the plate with Erik Stock drilling a two-run homer to the opposite field to put the Huskies on the board, 2-0.
UConn added three runs in the second inning, that included a Matt Donlan RBI single, and pushed its lead to 5-1 after two.
Zach Bushling hit his third home run over the past two days with a solo homer in the third to extend the UConn lead to 6-1. It is the fifth home run of the season for the UConn infielder.
A Ben Huber two-run double and Korey Morton solo homer were the only other offensive highlights of the day.
The UConn pitching staff was stellar with all five relievers throwing scoreless outings. Jimmy Wang made his 2022 debut that featured a pair of strikeouts in a scoreless ninth inning.
Braden Quinn earned his first career win with 3.0 innings in his first career start.
Jack Sullivan notched a career-high four strikeouts in 1.2 scoreless innings.Â
