WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The No. 11 UConn field hockey (6-1) won its fourth-straight game, 3-1, against No. 16 William & Mary on Sunday afternoon.
The four game win streak is the longest of the season for the Huskies and have all come against ranked opponents.
McKenna Sergi led the way for UConn with a pair of goals for the Huskies. Claire Jandewerth started the scoring with a goal 39 seconds into the match.
Sergi's first goal came off a UConn penalty corner with no time left on the clock. The initial shot was saved off the penalty corner but the UConn forward was able to bat home her third goal of the season.
Sol Simone notched a pair of assists in the game including a nice centering feed that found Sergi to make it 3-0 Huskies.
Cheyenne Sprecher made five saves on the afternoon to secure her sixth win of the season.
Next up, the Huskies face the reigning BIG EAST champion Liberty Flames on Friday, September 23 at 2 p.m.
