Huskies Set For Home and Home against #4 Boston College

»The UConn Huskies will head to Boston College to kick off a home and home series against the #4 Eagles.
» The Huskies have split each weekend against a Hockey East opponent to begin the 23- 24 season.
» UConn is coming off a 1-1 weekend against Merrimack College. The Huskies fell to Merrimack at home by a final of 6-3 before bouncing back and beating Merrimack 4-3 on the road. Andrew Lucas scored the game winner with 48 seconds left in regulation.
» This past weekend was one of the Huskies best weekends offensively. Scoring 7 total goals.
» The Huskies have relied heavily on their young players to begin the season. 5 of the 10 goal scorers this season have been either freshman or sophomores.
» Sophomore Matthew Wood has begun to find his stride, as he now leads the team with 6 goals and 4 assists for 10 points.
» While Hudson Schandor has not found his way onto the stat sheet by goals, he has been a key part in the Huskies offense. Schandor currently sits second on the team with 8 points. He has scored 1 goal and has 7 assists this season.
» The Huskies penalty kill has continued to impress. This season the Huskies penalty kill is currently ranked 4th in the nation with a 90.6% penalty kill. The Huskies only trail Union, Quinnipiac and Northeastern.
» Senior goaltender Ethan Haider is continuing to impress in his first season with the Huskies. Haider is currently posting a .929 save% which ranks 9th in the nation and 1.88 goals against average which ranks 8th in the nation.
» Battle of special teams. The Huskies and Eagles are currently posting some of the best Penalty Kill units in the country. UConn is posting a 90.6% penalty kill while Boston College is posting a 90.5% penalty kill unit.
» Boston College is currently coming off a 0-1-1 weekend against the University of Maine.
» Offensive explosion... In the last five meetings, the two teams have combined for a total of 44 goals.
