Huskies Defeat Saint Joseph's Hawks

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's lacrosse team beat Saint Joseph's University, 14-7, on Saturday evening on their indoor field at Mark R. Shenkman Training Facility. The event was closed to the general public.
The Huskies picked up their second win of the season, defeating the Saint Joseph's Hawks for the first time in program history. The two teams had never met prior to this contest.
Senior, Kate Shaffer, had four goals in the win, and notched two assists. Junior, Susan Lafountain, had her first hat trick of the season, after scoring the first two goals of the game for the Huskies. The total score was rounded out by two goals each for Kaitlyn Tartaglione and Lauren Barry, both scoring their first and second goals of the season. Senior, Sophie Sorenson, also had one goal.
On defense, graduate student and veteran goalkeeper, Landyn White, had 11 saves. Senior, Rylee Brown, had five draw controls and three caused turnovers in the win against the Hawks.
The Huskies will stay home and play host to the University of New Hampshire on Tuesday, February 28th at 3:00pm at Morrone Stadium.
