#15 UConn Skates to Tie Against Boston University

BOSTON – The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team skated to a tie against Boston University by a score of 2-2 in Boston Friday night.
UConn now stands at 16-10-4 overall and 10-9-4 in Hockey East play. BU takes the season series 3-0.
Period 1: Both offenses would open the game with aggressive pressure. BU, however, would not get anything to execute on. By the end of the period, UConn would have 13 shots on goal to BU's six. UConn would come out swinging first as Coryn Tormala and Christina Walker would send a pass to Ava Rinker for the finish to get the Huskies up 1-0 in the middle of the first. UConn would keep the lone goal lead at the end of the period.
Period 2: UConn would keep the momentum throughout the second period. Emma Eryou and Megan Woodworth would get ahold of a defensive breakdown by BU as the Huskies would tack on another goal scored by Riley Grimley. By the end of the period, UConn would up its shots on goal with 19 and BU with 14. The Huskies would keep the score at 2-0 at the end of the second.
Period 3: BU would look to slowly crawl its way back into the game with heavier offensive pressure. The Terriers would head to the power play with a holding penalty on Carlie Magier, but UConn would kill the penalty. Then, late in the third period BU would get on the board with a goal by Brooke Disher. Soon after, the Terriers would tie it up at 2 apiece with a minute left in the game. BU would send it to overtime.
Neither team would score in overtime, but BU would get the winning goal in the shootout.
