#15 UConn Set to Face #5 Northeastern and Holy Cross this Weekend

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team prepares for two Hockey East matchups this weekend. Both games will be at Toscano Family Ice Forum with the first against Northeastern on Friday, Feb. 10 and the second against Holy Cross on Saturday, Feb. 11. Â
Heading into the matchups, UConn remains ranked 15th in the women's DI ice hockey national poll. The Huskies are 16-10-4 overall and 10-9-4 in Hockey East action. Last Friday, UConn tied with Boston University 2-2 after a two-goal comeback in the third period from the Terriers. Â
Looking to change the tides heading into this weekend are Jada Habisch and senior captain Coryn Tormala with a combined total of 18 goals, 16 assists, and 34 points this season. Â
Scouting the HuskiesÂ
Entering the matchup, Northeastern ranks fifth in the national poll and is posting a 25-2-1 overall record and a 21-2-1 conference record. Last time out, the Huskies won 4-1 on Tuesday against Boston University. Leading the way was Maureen Murphy with two goals and one assist. Murphy has 17 goals and 25 assists this season. Â
Northeastern won both games against UConn back on Oct. 7 and Oct. 8. Â
Scouting the Crusaders Â
Entering the matchup, Holy Cross is 6-22-1 overall and 5-18-0 in Hockey East play. Last time out, the Crusaders fell to New Hampshire by a score of 7-4 on Sunday. Last game, Millie Sirum finished with two goals and an assist in the high-scoring battle. That would make it two goals scored out of her four goals this season. Â
This will be the first matchup of the season between UConn and Holy Cross. Â
Puck drop is scheduled for 6 p.m. EST on Friday and 3 p.m. EST on Saturday. Friday's game can be seen on NESN+ and Saturday's game can be streamed live on ESPN+.Â
