No.25 Huskies Set for Final Road Game of Regular Season

INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – The No.25 UConn Women's Lacrosse team is set for their final road game of the regular season against BIG EAST opponent, Butler University. Opening draw is scheduled for 11:00am in Indianapolis, IN.
UConn is coming off a crucial win over the Georgetown Hoyas in their mid-week contest at home in Storrs, CT. The Huskies remain ranked in the national poll, taking the No.25 spot after two in-conference losses in a row to Denver and Marquette, who both remain at the top of the BIG EAST rankings.
Kate Shaffer, once again, had a standout performance on attack for the Huskies. Shaffer notched six goals in the defeat of the Hoyas, while Rayea Davis and Grace Coon had three apiece. Morgan Carter rounded out the offense for UConn with a goal of her own.
Grad student goalkeeper, Landyn White, had 20 saves versus Georgetown, tying her career-high saves which she notched earlier this season against then No.12 JMU. The rest of the defense had a stellar performance in the win, with Julia Ozimek and Gillian Haverty each causing two turnovers. Attacker, Lia LaPrise, showed up on defense with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Ariana Kline and Rylee Brown each came up with three draw controls, while Madelyn George and Ozimek had two apiece on Wednesday.
Scouting Butler
The Bulldogs come into the game 6-9 (1-3) and currently on a four-game losing streak. Their most recent win came against BIG EAST opponent, Xavier. Luci Selander notched a career-high six goals in Butler's game against Marquette on Wednesday afternoon, while Kate Kaptrosky scored a career-high three goals. Goalkeeper, Lauren Buckley, had a career-high 12 saves in the loss. The Bulldogs will be looking to keep their BIG EAST playoff dreams alive with a win over the Huskies tomorrow morning.
