No. 11 Huskies Set to Face Vermont

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team is set for two home games against Hockey East foe Vermont on Friday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 27 at Toscano Family Ice Forum. Â
The Huskies are currently ranked No. 11 in the USCHO national poll. UConn enters the matchup 16-6-2 overall and 13-3-1 in Hockey East action which leads the conference. Last time out, the Huskies won their fifth straight game against New Hampshire away by a score of 4-0. Leading the way for the Huskies are forwards Jada Habisch and Coryn Tormala as they combine for 39 points with 16 combined goals and 23 assists. Also, junior goaltender Megan Warrener continues to shine in goal with 211 saves, four shutouts, and a 10-0-1 record. Warrener also as compiled a .959 save percentage and .83 goals-against average. Â
Saturday's game vs. Vermont will be the Huskies annual Sakting Strides game. Scouting VermontÂ
Heading into the matchup, the Catamounts are 9-14-1 overall and 7-10-0 in Hockey East play. Last time out, Vermont fell to Boston University in both away games on January 19 and 20 which pushed it back to seventh place in the standings with Maine. Leading the way for the Catamounts is senior forward Natálie Mlynková with 23 points along with 12 goals scored and 11 assists. Â
UConn has not faced Vermont this season. Last season, the Huskies went 1-1-1 against the Catamounts. In all-time faceoffs UConn leads with a record of 32-15-7.Â
Puck drop is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET on Friday and 3 p.m. ET on Saturday in Storrs. Both games can be streamed live on ESPN+.Â
