No. 11 Huskies Set to Face Providence in Home-and-Home Series

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team prepares for a Hockey East faceoff against Providence in a home-and-home series on Friday, Feb. 2 in Providence, R.I., and on Saturday, Feb. 3 in Storrs at Toscano Family Ice Forum.
The Huskies are currently ranked No. 11 in the USCHO national poll. Overall, UConn stands at 17-6-3 and 14-3-2 in Hockey East action. The women are atop the leaderboard in the conference standings. Last time out, UConn won 3-0 in the first game against Vermont and then tied in the second game 0-0 last weekend. Leading the way this season has been the play from senior forward Jada Habisch with 22 points along with 14 goals and eight assists.
Scouting Providence
Entering the matchup, the Friars are 11-14-2 overall and 10-8-2 in conference play. Providence is placed in fourth in the conference standings. Last time out, Providence faced Boston College in a home-and-home series last weekend tying the first game in Providence 1-1, and then prevailing 3-1 away in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Leading the way for the Friars are forwards Audrey Knapp and Reichen Kirchmair with a combined 28 points, along with 21 goals scored and seven combined assists.
UConn faced Providence earlier this season on October 27 as the Huskies won in a lopsided victory by a score of 6-1. In all-time matchups, UConn has a record of 25-40-11.
