Eagle Elite Invitational Final Results | Yale Giegengack Invitational Final Results

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's and women's track & field teams competed hard in a dual-meet weekend.

In total, the Huskies finished with 35 top-five finishes along with six personal bests and five first-place results.

For the men, at the Yale Invitational sophomore Damon Simpson earned himself a personal record in the 60M dash with a first-place time of 6.79 seconds. Not far off of that time, would be freshman Noble Gongon running a time of 6.80. Then, freshman Michael Johnson ran a first-place time and a personal best in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.42 seconds. Also, sophomore Garrett McHeard in the shot put had a personal best with a second-place throw of 16.40m.

For the women, also at the Yale Invitational sophomore Mia Dansby had a strong outing with two personal records in the 60M (2nd, 7.47) and the 200M (3rd, 24.80). Then also with personal records were senior Felicia Quainoo in the 60-meter hurdles with a fourth-place finish of 8.84 seconds and junior Alyssa Elliott running a fifth-place time of 8.93 seconds. To round it out, junior A'liyah Thomas competed at the Eagle Elite Invitational finishing with her third first-place result in the long jump leaping 6.23m.

The Huskies have two meets next weekend at the Terrier DMR in Boston and at the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Ind., on Friday, Feb. 16 and Saturday, Feb. 17.
