STORRS, Conn. No. 8 UConn women's hockey (10-3-1) is set to kickoff the 2025 Nutmeg Classic against No. 9 Quinnipiac on Friday, November 28. Puck drop is set for 3:00pm at the Toscano Family Ice Forum. TICKETS
UConn is coming off a weekend sweep of Vermont and are 8-1-1 in their last ten games. The Huskies outscored Vermont, 10-3 over the two-game set. This marks the first time UConn has scored 10+ goals in a weekend series since the 2022-23 season (Stonehill). Junior forward Julia Pellerin led the way against Vermont, netting her second career hat-trick in Friday's 4-0 shutout win. Pellerin has five goals this season, while dishing out three assists, totaling eight points, the third most on UConn's roster.
A Look at Quinnipiac
The Quinnipiac Bobcats (12-3-1) are coming off two straight defeats to Princeton a weekend ago. Before that, Quinnipiac started off ECAC play strong going 4-1-1 through their first six conference games. The Bobcats are coached by Cassandra Turner entering her 11th season. Quinnipiac was voted to finish in fourth place in ECAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Bobcats have been led this season by junior forward Kahlen Lamarche. Her 19 goals this year ranks first in Division I, ranking third in points (27).
Series History
Quinnipiac has won ten of the last eleven matchups, dating back to the 2011-12 season. UConn has not beaten the Bobcats since the 2009-10 season. Quinnipiac leads the all-time series, 12-10-1.
