No. 7 Huskies Set to Face Boston University This Weekend

STORRS, Conn. – No. 7 UConn women's hockey (12-3-1) is set for a home-and-home series against the Boston University Terriers this weekend. The series is set to begin on Friday, December 5 at 6:00pm at the Toscano Family Ice Forum. The series will conclude on Saturday, December 6 at 4:00pm from Walter Brown Arena. Coming into the weekend, UConn has won eight of their last nine games. The Huskies took home the Nutmeg Classic Championship a weekend ago, posting victories over top 15 opponents in Quinnipiac (No. 9) and Yale (No. 15). The strong tournament run lifted the Huskies to No. 7 this week in the national polls, the highest national ranking in program history.
Senior forward Kyla Josifovic has led the way for the Huskies this season, leading the team in goals (8), assists (9), and points (17). Josifovic was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Nutmeg Classic, netting two goals and an assist across the Huskies two games. Graduate netminder Tia Chan was stout in the tournament, making 86 saves against Quinnipiac and Yale. Chan was the runner-up Hockey East Goaltender of the Month, after posting 1.86 goals against average with a .940 save percentage in her seven starts across November.
A Look at Boston University
The Boston University Terriers (4-10-1) are coming off a win at Holy Cross on Tuesday. The Terriers are currently tied in fifth place in the conference standings with UConn and are off to a 4-5-1 record in Hockey East play. BU was voted to finish in second place in the Hockey East Preseason Coaches' Poll, receiving five first place votes. The Terriers are coached by Tara Watchorn entering her third season. This season, Boston University has been led by senior forward Sydney Healey who leads the team in goals (7), assists (7), and points (14).
Series History
Last season, the Huskies swept all three games with Boston University in the regular season series. Dating back to the 2023-24 season, UConn has won six straight regular season games over the Terriers. The Huskies trail the all-time series, 21-31-9.
