STORRS, Conn. – No. 6/8 UConn women's hockey (19-7-2) is set for two Hockey East matchups this weekend. The action begins on Friday, February 6 as the Huskies head to Providence for a 6:00pm puck drop. UConn will return home to the Toscano Family Ice Forum on Saturday, February 7 and will welcome Boston College to Storrs. All games will be streamed on ESPN+. TICKETS
UConn is coming off a split against New Hampshire last weekend. The Huskies are currently in second place in the Hockey East standings with a 12-5-1 record with six conference games remaining in the regular season. FULL STANDINGS
This season, UConn ranks among the nation's top 15 scoring offenses, averaging 2.8 goals per game. The Huskies lead the conference in shots on goal with 990 this season. Junior forward Julia Pellerin has led the UConn attack, recording 153 shots this season, the second most in Hockey East. Pellerin has scored 9 goals and added 11 assists, marking her second consecutive 20-plus point season (34 points in 2024-25 at BC).
A Look at Providence
The Providence Friars (9-17-2) are coming off a series sweep at Vermont last weekend. UConn last met the Friars in early January, winning both matchups by a combined score of 9-1. Providence currently sits in 9th place in the Hockey East standings with a 6-10-2 conference record.
A Look at Boston College
The Boston College Eagles (12-15-1) enter the weekend following a series split against Maine. The Huskies and Eagles last met in November, ending in a series split. UConn took the first game, 3-1 while Boston College earned a 2-1 win in the second game on a late game-winner. The Eagles are currently in fourth place in the Hockey East standings with a 10-7-1 conference record.
