GREENVILLE, S.C. – In the 123-year history of the program, the UConn baseball team achieved something they've never accomplished on Sunday by sweeping its first four-game series against Michigan State, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon at Fluor Field.

Jimmy Wang made his first start of his UConn career and logged a career-high 4.2 innings allowing just one unearned run while striking out three. The UConn bullpen followed with 4.1 scoreless frames to secure the win.

Colby Dunlop, Chase Gardner, Karl Johnson and Jake Wallace combined to allow just one hit while striking out six.

Mike Woodworth led the way at the plate with a 3-4 day at the plate that included a mammoth solo home run in the seventh that struck the building behind the Green Monster in left to make it 3-1. The senior from Alameda, Calif. sealed the game in the eighth with a two-run single to push the lead to 6-1.

Anthony Prato recorded his sixth multi-hit game of the season and stole two bases extending his reach-base streak to 23 games dating back to 2018.

Up next, the Huskies head to ACC country to take on the University of Virginia on Wednesday, March 20 at 4 p.m. The midweek matchup will feature the two longest tenured coaching staffs in the country.

Notes

· The UConn bullpen allowed one run in 16.1 innings in the four game series.

· Mike Woodworth and Chris Winkel each drove in a team-high seven runs in the series.

· UConn scored 11 runs in the eighth inning during the four-game set.

· UConn is 8-0 all-time at Fluor Field.
