STORRS, Conn. – The No. 22 UConn baseball team evened its series against Cincinnati with a 5-1 win at Dunkin' Donuts Park in Hartford. The Huskies move to 19-11 overall and 5-3 in The American.
In front of 2156 fans, the Huskies hit a pair of home runs to pace the offense and received another solid big time pitching performance from their staff. Trailing 1-0 in the second, David Langer hit his first career home run, a two-run shot, to give UConn its first lead of the day, 2-1.

Anthony Nucerino recorded his third-straight multi-hit effort but it was his defensive play in the fourth that kept UConn in front. The right fielder came up firing on a two-out single with a runner at second base and cut down the tying run at the plate.
Jeff Kersten logged 4.2 innings, allowed just four hits and one run while striking out four. The right-hander needed one more out to qualify for a win but a two-out error extended the fifth inning and forced the Huskies to go into the pen.
Caleb Wurster came out and escaped the fifth inning jam to keep UConn ahead, 2-1. The Coventry, R.I. native notched two scoreless innings to earn his second win before handing the ball to redshirt senior CJ Dandeneau. Dandeneau made his 72nd career appearance and pitched 1.1 perfect innings.
