UConn Set to Play JMU at US Lacrosse Headquarters

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's lacrosse team heads to Sparks, Maryland for a neutral site matchup with James Madison University at the US Lacrosse Headquarters. The game will be played at Tierney Field at 12:00 pm on Sunday, February 16th.

Scouting the Dukes
James Madison comes into Sunday's game with a 1-1 overall record. The Dukes dropped their season opener to #2 North Carolina 15-7 before taking down #23 Virginia Tech 9-8 in overtime. Freshman Isabella Peterson leads the team with five goals on the season. Last year's second leading scorer for the Dukes, senior Logan Brennan, has tallied three goals and two assists for five points this season.
Matchup History
This will be the fourth straight year the Huskies and Dukes will meet at Tierney Field. James Madison holds a 3-0 advantage in games played at the US Lacrosse Facility, including winning last season's matchup 18-9. The Huskies last win against the Dukes came in 2016 when UConn won 12-10 in Storrs.
Last Time Out
The Huskies (1-0) enter the weekend after opening the season with a 19-12 win over Fairfield (0-2) at the Sherman Family Complex on Wednesday. Junior Sydney Watson led the team in scoring with six goals on the afternoon. Senior Olivia Miles added four goals of her own and tallied three ground balls. Seven Huskies recorded at least two points in Wednesday's win. Freshman Madelyn George also scored her first collegiate goal for the Huskies.

UConn returns to Storrs for an afternoon matchup with UMass Lowell on Friday, February 21st. The game is slated for 3pm at the Sherman Family Sports Complex.
