Huskies Set to Host UMass Lowell Friday

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's lacrosse team will play host to the UMass Lowell River Hawks on Friday, February 21st at the Sherman Family Complex. The opening draw is set for 3:00pm.

Scouting the River Hawks
UMass Lowell enters Friday's contest with a 1-1 overall record to begin the season. The River Hawks opened their 2020 campaign with a 14-7 win over Central Connecticut before falling to Holy Cross 13-5 last Sunday. Freshman Abby McLaughlin leads UMass Lowell with five goals for five points on the season. Junior Hannah Rose has tallied two goals and two assists for four points through two games.
This will be the first matchup between the Huskies and River Hawks.
Last Time Out
The Huskies (1-1) are coming off of a tough loss to James Madison last Sunday. UConn fell 11-8 to the Dukes at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland. Sophomore Lia LaPrise led the Huskies with two goals and three assists on the afternoon. Junior Stephanie Palmucci added two goals and an assist of her own. Junior Sydney Watson leads the team with six goals, while LaPrise leads UConn with nine points on the year, tallying four goals and five assists.

A quick turnaround the Huskies as they'll head to Durham, New Hampshire to take on UNH on Sunday, February 23rd. Opening draw is scheduled for 1:00pm.
