BSB Takes Series vs. No. 1/9 Michigan, 9-2

PORT ST LUCIE, Fla. - The UConn baseball team captured a series win against No. 1/9 Michigan, 9-2, on Sunday afternoon from the Mets Spring Training Complex.
It is the first time in program history that the Huskies have earned a series win against the No. 1 team in the country.
Starting pitcher Nick Krauth set the tone for the Huskies with 5.0 strong innings on the bump. The right-hander struck out the side in the fourth after UConn took an early 2-0 advantage.

UConn was clutch at the plate with two outs, plating seven of its nine runs with two down.Â
The Huskies struck first in the fourth with back-to-back RBI doubles from Kyler Fedko and Paul Gozzo.
UConn posted its largest scoring inning of the season in the fifth by posting a six-spot. Christian Fedko and Reggie Crawford nearly hit home runs but settled for RBI doubles.

Kyler Fedko followed with an RBI single and then Paul Gozzo smoked his first home run of the season to make it 8-0 Huskies.
Freshman first baseman Reggie Crawford finished the day 4-4 at the dish with three doubles.and a stolen base.The left hander also made his first appearance on the mound, getting the final out of the sixth inning.

Randy Polonia and Kenneth Haus were sharp out of the pen with Polonia striking out both batters he faced. Haus recorded all three outs in a scoreless seventh.
UConn moves to 3-3 on the year and will return to action next weekend at the University of New Orleans.Â
