Huskies Fall to No. 19 UMass

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's lacrosse team fell to UMass 18-14 on Saturday afternoon at the Sherman Family Complex. The Huskies fall to 4-2 on the season, while UMass improves to 4-1.
The Huskies rallied just before the half to get within one goal at the break. Trailing 10-9 to start the second half, UConn battled hard, but could not overcome the Minutewomen lead. Senior Olivia Miles led the Huskies with four goals on the afternoon and added an assist. Sophomore Lia LaPrise scored three and added two helpers for five points on the afternoon. Junior Stephanie Palmucci added five points of her own, tallying two goals and three assists.
Juniors Sydney Watson and Abby Vetsch each added two goals to the Husky offense. Watson recorded an assist and five draw controls as well.
Senior Grace Beshlian made three saves Saturday afternoon in just under 19 minutes of playing time. Sophomore Landyn White saw more game action this season, playing 41:23. White tallied nine saves and a .474 save percentage on the afternoon.
