No. 11 FH Takes Home Convincing Win at Georgetown

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The No. 11 UConn field hockey team (11-4, 5-1) took home a convincing win against fellow BIG EAST member Georgetown University (3-13, 0-6) on Friday afternoon at Cooper Field in Washington, D.C.
Madi Herb led the way for UConn with a quick goal at the beginning of the game to put the Huskies on the board. Erica Solomen quickly answered with her own goal, and her first of the season, to make the score 2-0 UConn. Herb later solidified the Huskies win with another goal of her own in the first half.
Cheyenne Sprecher notched her fifth shutout of the season after coming up with three crucial saves for UConn.
Next up, the Huskies will return home to face Temple University on Friday, October 28th at 1pm and No. 2 University of Maryland on Sunday, October 30th at 1pm at Nancy Stevens Field. UConn will celebrate Senior Day on Sunday afternoon versus the Terrapins.
