No. 21 UConn Opens BIG EAST Lineup vs. Marquette Saturday

STORRS, Conn. -Â Ready to open BIG EAST play, the No. 21 UConn women's lacrosse team will welcome Marquette for a battle of the conference's top two offenses at Morrone Stadium on Saturday, April 1 at noon.
UConn is coming off its eight-straight win after a 20-8 decision over Columbia on Wednesday. With the win, UConn set a new program record for consecutive victories.
Senior Sydney Watson etched her name further into the UConn record book as she broke her own single-game draw control record with 19 wins vs. Columbia. Watson owns every top-five single-game draw control record in program history, while her 19 draw controls are tied for third-most of any NCAA student-athlete in a single-game this season.
Watson is on the verge of yet another record as owns 181 career goals is six goals away from breaking the program's all-time goal record.
Fellow senior Lia LaPrise also had a day to remember as she became the 10th Husky in program history to reach the 100-career goal milestone.
Junior Kate Shaffer continued her tear on the attack as she led the Huskies for the third straight game in scoring with five goals vs. the Lions. Furthermore, her seven points set a new career high.
SCOUTING MARQUETTE
Marquette is 5-6 on the season, with all six of its losses taking place on the road. Shea Garcia is leading the team in points (40) and goals (28), while the Golden Eagles own the second-best offense in the league with 14 goals per game.Â
Mary Schumar is tied for the BIG EAST lead in assists (20). Ellie Henry has a team-high 54 draw controls and is tied with Faith Chmielewski for the lead in caused turnovers (11). Meredith Black has been the head coach of Marquette for all nine seasons in program history.
THE SERIES
UConn is on a five-game win streak vs. the Golden Eagles and has won seven of its eight matchups.
