STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's lacrosse team put the running clock on in the first half and never looked back as it downed Manhattan 16-6 Wednesday afternoon inside the Shenkman Training Facility.
Wednesday's game was moved indoors due to the snowstorm. The Huskies have outscored their opponents 39-20 over two games inside Shenkman this season.
Senior Sydney Watson netted a hat trick in the first half, while senior Lia LaPrise and junior Kate Shaffer tabbed two goals and two assists apiece. Senior Katherine Parker led the Huskies with three caused turnovers as the defense limited the Jaspers to one goal in the first half.
Watson went upper 90 on a free position shot to put the Huskies on the board first and followed with another strike off a feed from Shaffer. The rout was on from there as the Huskies went on what proved to be a 12-0 run that lasted from midway through the first quarter through the end of the third.
Junior Rylee Brown slotted her first career goal to close out the game as UConn won its third straight game.
UConn will remain in Storrs for matchup against Cornell on Sunday, March 13 at 1 p.m. at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium.
