Schedule Changes for No. 15 HookC vs. Georgetown

STORRS, Conn. - Due to inclement weather, the No. 15 UConn baseball home series against Georgetown will be changed to a 3:05 p.m. start on Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22 will now be a doubleheader begining at 12:05 p.m. It will be two nine inning games in the doubleheader.
The Huskies are coming off a Top-20 win at No. 20 Boston College on Wednesday night with a 12-1 defeat in seven innings. It was a nice bounce back after a tough defeat against Northeastern on Tuesday.
UConn enters the weekend in a three-way tie for first in the BIG EAST standings with the Huskies, Xavier and Seton Hall all at 4-2. The Hoyas enter the weekend a half game back with a 5-4 mark in BIG EAST play.
The Huskies are set to host its first BIG EAST series after winning road series at St. John's and Xavier. The Hoyas have played three BIG EAST series with series wins against Villanova and Creighton and a series loss at Seton Hall.
Georgetown swept UConn at Shirley Povich Field to end the regular season last year. The Huskies then responded with a victory against the Hoyas in the opening game of the 2022 BIG EAST Championship.
The Huskies are slated to throw LHP Andrew Sears, RHP Stephen Quigley and TBA for the series finale.
Georgetown is 21-16 on the season and is second in the BIG EAST with 254 runs scored and second with 53 home runs. Ubaldo Lopez and Darien, Conn. native Jack Hyde are tied for the conference lead in homers with 14 on the season. Hyde is tied for the league lead with 44 RBIs with UConn first baseman Ben Huber.
Game 3 starter Jake Bloss leads the BIG EAST with 61 strikeouts and game two starter Andrew Williams is in the top-five with 50 punch outs this season. Cody Jensen will get the starting nod in the series opener.
