ITHACA, N.Y. – The UConn women's field hockey team (1-4) lost to Cornell on Friday evening in upstate New York. This is their second loss to an Ivy League this season and their third straight loss.
The Huskies started strong on offense, with Julianna Kratz putting one into the back of the net on a pass from Belle Bressler early in the first quarter. The Huskies remained on top, with that as the only goal, as the game broke for halftime.
While UConn dominated in the midfield, and took nine shots to Cornell's seven, they couldn't get it going again on offense to put another point on the board. The Big Red, however, capitalized on two penalty corner shots from Caroline Ramsey to solidify their win.
The Huskies will head to Syracuse, NY next to take on the No.7 Syracuse Orange in a game at 12:00pm on Sunday. It will be streamed on the ACC Network.
