No. 11 Huskies Set for Two-Game Road Trip vs. Northeastern and Holy Cross

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team prepares for a two-game road trip in Hockey East play against Northeastern in Boston on Friday, Feb. 9 and Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., on Saturday, Feb. 10.
The Huskies are currently ranked No. 11 in the USCHO women's national poll. They enter the matchups 18-6-4 overall and 15-3-3 in conference play. UConn sits atop the leaderboard in the conference standings with 48 points, including an unbeaten 18 game win streak on hand. Last time out, UConn first tied with Providence in the first game of the home-and-home series on Friday, Feb. 2, 2-2, and then won in overtime 2-1 on Saturday, Feb. 3. Leading the way for the Huskies all season has been senior forward Jada Habisch as Habisch is posting a team-leading 23 points, including a team-high 14 goals scored and nine assists. Also, junior goaltender Megan Warrener has had a stellar season thus far and was recently named as a semifinalist for National Goalie of the Year. Warrener has an unbeaten record when in goal posting a 11-0-1 record, along with 237 saves, and a nation-leading goals against average of 0.84.
Scouting Northeastern and Holy Cross
Heading into the matchup, the Northeastern Huskies are 20-9-1 overall and 13-7-1 in Hockey East action. The Huskies are ranked No. 13 in the national poll and third in the conference standings. Last time out, Northeastern beat New Hampshire in two overtime games on Thursday, Feb. 1 winning 3-2 and then winning on Saturday, Feb. 3 4-3 in the home-and-home series. Leading the way for the Huskies is forward Skylar Irving as she has collected a team-high 26 points, including seven goals scored and a team-high 19 assists. Goaltender Gwyneth Phillips boasts an 18-9-1 record with 665 saves and .951 save percentage.
UConn has faced Northeastern twice this season in a home-and-home series winning the first game 3-0 and then securing the 1-0 victory in game two. UConn's record all-time against Northeastern is 20-45-12.
Heading into the matchup with Holy Cross, the Crusaders are 7-18-2 overall and 4-15-2 in conference play. Holy Cross stands at 10th in the league, respectively. Last time out, the Crusaders fell to Vermont in both away games dropping the game on Friday, Feb. 2 6-3, and then falling in the second game, 3-2 on Saturday, Feb. 3. Leading the way this season has been forward Millie Sirum with 20 points, including 10 goals scored and 10 assists.
UConn has faced Holy Cross twice this season, taking both games in a 3-0 win at home and then a 3-1 win in Worcester, Mass. UConn's all-time record against Holy Cross is 15-3.
