Huskies Fall 12-2 Against No. 4 Louisville

LAKELAND, Fla. - The UConn baseball team dropped its first game of the season, 12-2, against No. 4 Louisville on Saturday afternoon at Joker Marchant Stadium. The Huskies and Cardinals will play a rubber game Sunday at a new start time of 12:30 p.m.
Louisville came out firing after dropping the series opener to UConn on Friday night by scoring the first ten runs of the game in the first three innings. Colby Dunlop only last 2.1 innings for the Huskies in his first start of the season.
The UConn bullpen had a solid performance with Jimmy Wang and Kenny Haus both two scoreless innings. Wang logged three strikeouts and scattered one hit while Haus notched a pair of punch outs in two hitless inning. Redshirt freshman Angus Mayock was solid in his first career appearance, lasting 2.2 innings and recording three strikeouts.
Anthony Prato had the lone RBI for the Huskies with an RBI double in the fifth. It was the second two-bagger of the season for the Staten Island, N.Y. native.
Six Huskies made their debuts at UConn on Saturday. Kyler Fedko and Will Lucas made their first career starts while Cole Brodnansky came off the bench.Â
