HARTFORD, Conn. – The UConn baseball team rode the lethal combination of Mason Feole, CJ Dandeneau and Jake Wallace to its second shutout of the season, beating Wichita State 4-0 on Friday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park.

Feole had his best start of the season with seven superb innings of work. The lefty allowed just two hits and struck out a season-high 10 batters. The Wakefield, R.I. native is the first pitcher this season to reach the double-digit strikeout mark.

UConn set a season-high with its 14 punch outs on Friday with Dandeneau logging three in his 1.2 innings of work and Wallace struck out the only batter he faced to notch his 10^th save of the season.

The offense gave the pitching staff all the support they would need in the third inning. Mike Woodworth lined an RBI single into center to put the Huskies on the board, 1-0. Freshman Kyler Fedko came up with a clutch, two-out, two-run single to push the UConn lead to 3-0.

Thad Phillips added an insurance tally in the seventh with a base hit into left field to make it 4-0 advantage.

John Toppa led the way with a pair of hits, a run scored and a stolen base.

The Huskies and Shockers are set to close the series tomorrow with a doubleheader beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Dunkin' Donuts Park. Gates open at noon.

Mason Feole passed Ed Baird and Matt Barnes for third all-time on the UConn all-time strikeout list. With his 250 strikeouts, Feole trails Tim Cate (270) and Anthony Kay (263).
